Mould Remediation

Mould is a symptom of excess moisture. Effective remediation starts with understanding whether the driver is condensation, ventilation, a building defect, a leak or another moisture source.

Why diagnosis matters

Visible damp or mould does not automatically tell you the underlying cause. Moisture can enter from the ground, through external defects, from leaks, or build up internally through condensation.

Our approach is to inspect the clues, explain what is most likely happening and scope the remedial work accordingly.

Common questions

Mould Remediation FAQs

Clear answers to the questions we are most often asked before a survey or remedial project.

Still unsure? Book a free survey
01 Why does mould keep coming back after cleaning?

Cleaning can remove visible mould, but recurrence is common when the moisture source remains. Condensation, inadequate ventilation, leaks, cold surfaces or penetrating damp can all keep conditions suitable for mould growth.

02 Can mould simply be painted over?

Painting over mould may hide staining temporarily, but it does not address the moisture conditions behind it. Effective remediation should deal with the contamination and the cause of excess moisture before decorative finishes are restored.

03 Is black mould always caused by condensation?

No. Condensation is a common cause, particularly around windows, external corners and poorly ventilated rooms, but leaks, water ingress and cold bridging can produce similar symptoms. The cause needs to be assessed rather than assumed.

04 Do you work with landlords and property managers?

Yes. We can support landlords and property managers with investigation, mould remediation, moisture-control measures and associated repairs, with a clear scope of work for the property.
