Condensation Control

Condensation problems can be persistent. We look at the property as a system — moisture generation, heating, ventilation, cold surfaces and building defects — before recommending sensible improvements.

What we can help with

A solution built around the property.

Improve moisture management, ventilation and airflow where condensation is driving damp or mould.

  • Condensation assessment
  • Ventilation upgrades
  • Extractor and airflow improvements
  • Cold bridging and insulation advice
  • Mould prevention measures

Why diagnosis matters

Visible damp or mould does not automatically tell you the underlying cause. Moisture can enter from the ground, through external defects, from leaks, or build up internally through condensation.

Our approach is to inspect the clues, explain what is most likely happening and scope the remedial work accordingly.

Condensation Control FAQs

Clear answers to the questions we are most often asked before a survey or remedial project.

01 Why are my windows wet every morning?

Condensation forms when warm, moisture-laden air meets a colder surface. Bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens are common problem areas. Heating patterns, ventilation, insulation and the amount of moisture produced indoors all affect how severe it becomes.

02 Will a dehumidifier solve condensation permanently?

A dehumidifier can reduce indoor moisture and may be useful in some situations, but it does not necessarily correct poor ventilation, cold surfaces or building defects. It is best treated as one possible control measure rather than an automatic permanent fix.

03 Can condensation cause black mould?

Yes. Repeated surface condensation can keep walls and ceilings damp enough for mould to develop, particularly in cold corners or behind furniture. However, mould can also be linked to leaks or penetrating damp, so diagnosis still matters.

04 Can ventilation improvements make a real difference?

Yes, where inadequate airflow is part of the problem. Suitable extract ventilation, background ventilation and better air movement can significantly reduce humidity, but the solution should be appropriate for the property and how it is used.
